Twenty Five people were killed in one of the bloodiest terror strikes in Moga,residents of the sleepy Punjab town on Sunday remembered those lost in the tragedy dating to June 25, 1989.
While 21 RSS workers were gunned down at Jawahar Lal Nehru Park here, a couple and two policemen were killed in the bomb blast that followed the shooting. The attack left 31 injured.
A memorial was built in the memory of those killed in the park and a memorial committee was also formed to provide assistance to the victim’s families and maintain the memorial. Every year, the committee pays tributes to the victims of the attack on the first Sunday after June 25.
There was indiscriminate firing and they sprayed bullets on everyone.
